"Mrs. Ella Newton Watson, age 65, died Thursday at 2:15, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Anna Crews, near Barlow. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Crews, Miss Lucille Cage, Barlow, and Mrs. Lynn Logan, Piketon, Ohio; a son, Newton Watson, East St. Louis, Ill.,; two brothers, Willis and Richard Newton, Barlow; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtice Moore, Venice, Ill., and Mrs. Lola Moore, Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at the Gum Corner (New Liberty) Baptist Church, with the Rev. A.D. Seratt, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetary."

The day before her death, Annie had called Aunt Pat (Pat Burnett Newton), she wanted help in finding her insurance policies. The policies were laying on her dresser, when Uncle James Newton found her, the next morning. I guess she knew it was her time...
